Manzanita

In case the pictures of our trip tell a one-sided story….

The annual beach trip—with an almost three year old and a six year old—included…

Returning to an old favorite, Manzanita, along the northern Oregon Coast. We had a partial week, joined by my parents for two days.

So good to get away from the unpacking and house projects and enjoy beach time and outdoor beauty.

Lots of sand
Lots of bickering between brothers
Lots of negotiating
Lots of crawling out of cribs—-
Throughout the night—-every night {ugh!!!!!!}
A meal out at Rising Star Cafe—without children—thanks to my saintly parents
Breakfast pastries and Sleepy Monk Coffee from Bread & Ocean Bakery {everyday}
Puzzles, puzzles and more puzzles
Watching the three hour Bachelorette finale {guilty pleasures}
Revisiting places we loved on our last trip when Drew was in utero….Indian Beach at Ecola State Park & Short Sands Beach at Oswald West were great again.
An AMAZING surprise from Matt—a massage and pedicure at Spa Manzanita to counteract moving strain. So awesome!!!!
A lunch, cheese and ice cream stop at the Tillamook Factory
And this time Sally, our dog, joined us.
A lot of “normal life” and “normal struggles” just in a beachy setting.
I certainly don’t feel rested, but the chance to travel is a privilege and gift for which we are grateful.

Here’s some of my favorite pics so far…

  1. Great photos. Kids quarrel and wake you up too early, but just imagine how you would have missed them if it were just you and Matt at that lovely beach. You would have been just miserable…I know, i know, easy for me to say. Should walk the walk and volunteer to take the for a week…….
